We didn’t give them much to hit, and most of the boundaries were streaky. Wood bowled tightly and quickly. There didn’t seem to be much movement, except the one that Stokes jagged back into Warner’s stumps. And a few edges went very close to carrying, so that first 90 mins could have panned out differently. But there was a sea change when they got to 50, topped with Warner surviving the NB, and we started offering up a few pies. I managed to sleep after that, and it sounds like it largely went to shit.

Much as I maligned our bowling attack pre series, the batsmen have to at least give them a chance. By the looks of it the bowlers generally stuck at their task. Feel really sorry for Leach.

And at least if it’s over in 3 days, it gives bowlers a bit more rest before next weeks test, when Broad & Anderson can come back in. 🙄
