164-9, possibility of a win or draw with Aus batting last. The batsmen have to put in a whitewash avoiding performance tonight.

Wasn't expecting them to be 9 down. Sounds like they bowled well

Worth watching the last hour for 3 wickets. In test matches it's all about pressure and if you can exert it. Clarke got done again by leaving a ball from Jimmy on off stump. Not much for Monty but he bowled well when he was on

Monty is a very good test spinner. Almost as good as Swann was. He got overlooked a lot because he simply cannot bat or field.

No kidding about Monty, he also bring passion which I like , bloody useless fielder mind :¬)
Was stunned watching the Aussie wickets fall today :¬)
Typically good performance AFTER the show is over

Hint of Aussie over confidence in their batting?
I like Monty. His knock to secure the undeserved, unexpected draw in Cardiff a while back is one of my favourite innings of all time, a classic.
As for tonight, can't see anything other than them running through our pathetic batting line up and then batting with discipline/patience get to close with at most 1 down and a very gettable target to aim for.

Wasn't Tendulkar Monty's first test wicket? So he can't be that bad. I like Monty too -I think Duncan Fletcher made him bowl at a steady quicker pace than use variation which affected him.
We will need a lead of 350 at least.
It was interesting to see the aussie batting crumble like it did in the summer -the ploy of constantly attacking was OK on a quicker, bouncier pitch but not on this one

Tail wagged a bit, but the boys have at last turned up to the party, far too late obviously, but more of what we know they can do. Lunch on day 3 with a lead of just over 100. Cook needs to go and apscore big at a good rate, with 3-4-5 all chipping in as well, declare at lunch tomorrow with a lead of 450 or so. Maybe that just wishful thinking, will see what the morning brings.

Bell ffs. No one has the capacity to throw away a good position so quickly in such a shombolic manner.
