Boycott is full rant mode at close of play. Actually the only person to emerge with credit (other than Cook) was Pietersen who Boycott thought played very well taking on Johnson whilst letting others play the spinner -only for them to give their wickets away. He said "He's played two innings here that I couldn't have played better.."

Pietersen will doubtless be criticised again for his dismissal but batting with our tail what is he supposed to do? He could have prodded around for the ten minutes or so it takes for Johnson to blow us away and walked off with a nice 50 not out or, as he did, try and add some quick runs. OK, it didn't come off but it was not thoughtless and it certainly wasn't selfish.

The bowlers have done themselves no favours as well by not scoring any runs between them. We used to have a tail that wagged, not the walking wickets they've become now.

KP got out trying to play for the team rather than his average. Cook got a good one from Johnson. Others pretty gash it must be said.
I really don't think KP deserves as much grief as he gets. I've never thought of him playing selfishly. Sometimes his positive approach hasn't come off, but he's never played for not outs like say... Jacques Kallis has.

Thank god we don't have to bat again this test, can't bear it.
Carberry, Root, Bairstow all have major issues with style or technique.
Bell well out of form. That's 200 runs gone.
