Following the spread of coronavirus from Italy, European governments are currently saying 'we are committed to keeping borders open' in a way that makes me think border closures are imminent.

A few schools have been to Italy skiing over half term. Staff and pupils have been told to self-quarantine if they show any symptoms, but I think they had already been in school for the day on Monday. The local papers are on it.

Hoping I will be able to cancel flights to Seoul in May. Not much point going to visit my in laws now that I am separated anyway, still hope they are ok as my wife’s sister in law lives just north of Daegu.

I'm flying away this weekend, nowhere that is mentioned, but travel with planes and airports etc just increases the risk doesn't it.

I'm sure we'll be fine.

A girl in SweetPea's class has been tested today following school ski trip to Italy at half term. The school are following PHE guidance and the other children from the trip are still at school. The girl was in school Monday and first thing Tuesday.

Not particularly. She's either been infected or she hasn't. Not much we can do, and from what I understand, it's like flu. Horrible at the time, but the vast majority of healthy people will survive it. Ask me again in a couple of weeks!

Ultimately with a mortality rate of 2% the deaths will be a small statistical correction to the global population.

However not much comfort if it’s your loved ones. A mate is a type 1 diabetic and apparently mortality rate more like 10% in his situation.
