I have a jar of Marmite that Girl brought back from New Zealand - it’s recognisably Marmite in the same way that Vegemite isn’t, but the jar is plastic and the texture is different - very odd.
I’m glad Mr HB got his big voyage done this summer after all - at 70 there’s no saying he’d be able to do it next year or the year after. When Whitty speaks at 11 I shall be sitting outside a coffee shop discussing plans for a new parkrun - seems a little pointless currently

One silver lining to report. My parents' 60th wedding anniversary will be in January 2021. My mother told me that she and my father expect a surprise party to be provided. This would be my responsibility. I am absolutely not a surprise-parties sort of person. I have no idea who my parents would want to be invited. It looks like I'm off the hook now.

No way they are going to announce 6 months of lockdown, and if its the medical/ science guys leading the press conference they don't have that power anyway. He may scare us with talk of still being in the same place in 6 months if nothing else happens, but he can't call a lockdown.

Now Johnson could, but again that is incredibly unlikely as you instantly have people refusing to comply en mass. You have to make the exit appear close for people to comply, maybe you then just keep moving the exit further away once locked down so it ends up being 6 months, but you certainly don't tell people that at the start.

got to take those silver linings when they come your way. Seriously hoping I get out of having to see the brattish little nephews this christmas. 6 months sounds like a shocker though I was think a few weeks (but thats what we all thought at the start of lockdown)

Marmite XO ? What's that? super strength Marmite? Worth a try?
(and where are the big jars of the normal stuff, or are they just slowly coming restocking?)

Although (thanks EP for overcoming covid & heatwave logistics), my cupboard is pretty full of half price double packs of choc hobnobs.

Oops - unfortunate x-post. Sorry about the in-laws and boat EP. That must be really tough and a rotten 'change of life' event.

Marmite XO is "extra mature" as such so stronger

I tried it before and was like "bovvered" not worth the extra money IMHO

Um it was a pleasure! LOL

6 months of difficult conditions will be what they mean, though I find it hard to see why and how they have put an end-point on that, other than the weather making outdoor socialising a bit more palatable from April onwards.
