@D2 About outdoors. I am aware that I present more of a risk to most people than they do to me, so I try to stand downwind of them outdoors. It doesn't always work, but if we're trying to avoid passing on airborne particles then it seems like a reasonably simple precuation. Maybe you could apply the same principles to your walks with your friends, and if you're concerned, wear masks?

I’m very cautious but do walk with friends. I generally find we’re both facing forwards (rather than towards one another) and frequently one after another if narrower so it feels pretty safe.

im hoping that there will be some tighten of restrictions from that announcement. (i don't want tighter restrictions be I think we need them).

D2 i agree with others. most of my social interaction is outdoors walking where the risk is very low

I never watch morning tv but I’m up with kitten!

I think we get the scientific views today with the hope people listen rather than thinking it’s all politics and not listen

I think Boris will be talking tomorrow

I may be wrong though 😁

Yeah I read it’s Whitty and Vallance with no ministers. That suggests no announcement but maybe some tough messages on the implications of not following guidance.

It suggests that the politicians are too cowardly to take responsibility.

As for walking, I think outdoor walking with a friend or two is probably one of the very best things you can do in terms of risk/reward.

Yesterday myself and Mrs T walked with 3 friends and ended the walk with a drink in a pub garden. All customers were being sensible and the tables were set at a lot more more than 2m apart. You could walk between tables and still be 2m apart. It felt very safe and I agree the social benefits of the walk far outweigh the risks.

swittle - I much prefer Vegemite, don't usually buy Marmite unless it's in peanut butter.

D2 - I think that continuing to meet your friend should be safe.
