Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I will be crushed if the Olympics don't happen from my viewing pleasure point of view. But the worst is the athletes. It is a once every 4 year event and athletes that are right at the ends of their career but were ready for 2020 and then hung on for 2021 would then be too old come 2024. Particularly the first time Olympians.

It's obviously small fry in this most miserable of times but for those athletes personally it will be devastating.

I haven't been paying enough attention to that particular story EP, but on the face of it Djokovic and her are both being whiny crybabies.

I think we might manage 1st Jan 2022 for parkrun if vaccinations continue at the pace they've set.

Is it sustainable without foreign spectators? If so I think there is a chance. They have a purpose built village for athletes to quarantine in beforehand, so I think its logistically possible.

I can't see Olympics happening either, financially it must be crippling too

sad for those of whom 2020 would have been their last chance age wise

I feel really sorry for Tokyo, all that work! Do you think they could reschedule so they could have 2024 and Paris 2028 instead?
