One of my neighbours is trying to arrange something at 11:45 which I to be honest could do without but also think is technically not allowed - even if we stand apart in our family groups.. Its also freezing and snowing

Maybe if the street formed two socially distanced lines and one walked by the other, again at a suitable distance, and everyone bade each other a guid new year (with their own drinks of course) it would fall at least within the letter of the law, if not perhaps the spirit. Although I can see how everyone getting outside and just seeing each other and doing something would be a positive thing, and the risk of transmission in such a circumstance would be very close to zero, even if anyone was infected. Rather less than with random uncontrolled movement in shops, for example.

Good news on the vaccine, my allergy is wasp stings and I doubt they are used in any of the formulations😊.
