Wasn't Gove also on this 'pilot' when he got 'pinged' galavanting around Europe following Chelski? That was around 2 months ago. Seems convenient that any reference of this project seemingly has gone off the radar, until now.

I think they said some others such as TfL are on it as well.

I don't have the Scottish track and trace app but, if it is anything like the English one, it sounds a nightmare.
Do give details at some cafes, etc, that I visit. But not been contacted thus far.
If I was phoned, it would be a hard call. When using hospitality, I am invariably either outside or indoors but not close to any other customers.

Are Sainsbury's stores expecting to be overrun by millions of people who've not shopped since March 2020?

Scotland's "freedom day" seems to be 9th August, but mandatory face coverings in many settings to remain.
From what I have witnessed, face covering compliance seems very good up here. Even people masking up when walking to their tables at outdoor venues.

Booths is keeping the same shopping conditions, but with a "please" rather than as instructions. I suspect the locals will be mostly compliant, but we shall see. Anyway I'm not really planning on changing my behaviour other than perhaps a couple of "normal" races (depending what the organisers choose to do). I'm not really bothered by the risk of small outdoor events.

I thought Tesco & Sainsbury’s we’re keeping the protections in place? My local Tesco said they are.
Thanks re the pilot I did get a news alert to say BJ & Co had relented to isolate. They need to lead from the too something else they’ve not been very good at.
Tim that was partly my issue with the ping I got on Friday to say I’d visited a venue where someone has now confirmed they tested positive. I got a NHS message, husband who provides name and phone number hasn’t been contacted we have only been to the same places as we were on holiday.

These testing instead of isolating trials are an ethical minefield. They should be getting consent from everyone that person could be in contact with, but that's not possible. I can't see how it got through ethical review when the positive negative effects include death or long covid for people who aren't even aware the study is happening.

Question: I live a very rural and isolated life. I don't have a smartphone and don't go anywhere where apps eyc are required. I have on occasion given name and landline. Last night I bumped into a friend who said she had been "pinged" yet she had not been anywhere for at least a week, 10 days. How does that work then? She asked me what I would do...
