Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I was just going to say the same about ZOE - its just not been that good from what I've seen of it. Don't know if the error is the raw data or their modelling.

I wonder if the Zoe app is a self-selecting bias. Maybe people who use the app are more likely to go for a test?
I hope It's not the case that what they are showing is pre-empting a rise generally.

To the 29th, the overall data and most of the regions - as in NW, SE etc show a good downward trend - although some look a little flat. I hope it is that clusters in some more discrete regions are skewing their data.

Maybe Zoe was the best we had when there was little testing available, but now isn't.

I like Rosehip's suggestion as an explanation. The ONS survey is the place I look, ok there's a delay but the NHS has good data locally.

Haha. Local news is talking about the new variant, found in Bristol.
Instead of the doom and gloom the Director of Public Health has turned it around on the interviewer and described it as a triumph that we are finding these variants so quickly and theres no need to be alarmed.

OS- And the ONS survey is also suggesting that the PHE data is a bit optimistic? Maybe people too few working age people are being tested.

Any views on the many European countries limiting the AZ vaccine to under 65s and I think 55s in Germany? Sour grapes at not getting enough doses or do they have some genuine information?
