So, the changes are working for me......
For the first time ever I planned my route to work (running) on the basis of Conquercise, to go through a zone that I have dsicovered I was only one point behind on!
I think it's mine now - at least for tonight when I upload!

Great stuff - love the enhancements 
A further suggestion - could zones the are in danger of being lost be shown in a similar way to zones that I've almost conquered? I own 8 zones and 1 of them has someone else within 1 point of taking it from me ... currently I can only see that by scanning down the list looking at scores and mentally calculating the difference.

I wonder if the window for improvements is still open - would it be possible for an unnamed zone to identify a postcode it's near? I've coded that for my own use. Each zone in my database is identified with the first half of the postcode that is closest to the centre of the zone.
It uses public data and I can make the code available.
It would improve messages such as "you have lost control of" by changing them to "you have lost control of a zone in/close to M31", and I will, think, Aha, it's a year since I was in Manchester.
