Very commendable John, well done. See previous chat, but to a certain extent, level is irrelevant for distance/time. It just changes how it feels and what technique you use. :-)G

Is anybody else having problems with ... errr... chafing?

I usually sit on a towel but this is not helping and think I need some foam or similar. Or should I just vaseline up.

Any ideas?

bree - I used to row for up to an hour and never had chafing - very numb bum, but no chafing. you shouldn't really be moving relative to the seat, so if you are I'd have a look at your technique.

I don't think I am moving relative to the seat. The problem seems to be that my tail bone is rubbing as I change between leaning forwards at the start of the stroke and back at the end. I don't think that is bad technique.

I tried sitting further back, so that the bone fits more into the V shaped hole in the seat and that helped. Also sticking to 25 mins at a time for now. And vaseline!

Just got back from a great week in Rome, so no rowing, or running for that matter - but lots of cross training (eating pizza, drinking cianti, eating pasta - and a hell of a lot of walking).

Looks like some good rowing while I've been away.

I've updated the header, and boy does it look sad compared to last months. I guess there are some missing results. If you can get the article up to date I'll pull it into the header quickly.

I may even get a chance to post a distance today.

I think we've all had a go, and no we are struggling to improve on our distances, or maybe people have just posted their more recent effort. There's been quite a bit of banter on here. On and off.
