It seems that Sophie won't be getting a bronze due to only 4 competitors in the race and you need 5 for a bronze to be awarded. However it seems that someone dropped out, so there were 5 entrants just 4 starters. Be interesting to see what the exact wording is, get your lawyers out team GB. bbc.co.uk So sorry for her Um, can we award her a special fetch badge instead? |

Apparently I only gain my accent when I get cross, which I was reminded of when I was giving someone who drove out in front of me on a roundabout my opinions the other afternoon. Otherwise (from what people have said), it's not as strong as it should be. I have to have the subtitles on for my wife to understand Brummies on TV. Although, that said, it could be why she never seems to listen to me.... |

bbc.co.uk I'm happy to contribute toward her fine. That's really unfair when it seems that things weren't clear in the first place. |

If interested, the exact wording is here thecgf.com My reading is that the restriction on medals had to be announced within 7 days of 29-Jun. Not just after the event? And as per my blog today, the official CWG start list for the semi finals stated 'losers contest bronze' and the actual 3rd/4th race was called 'Final for Bronze'. If they had announced it before, I don't think there'd have been an issue. Sophie's been through that before at the Nationals, so not unknown. I think the whole organisation and all docs before that had said bronze. |

Hopefully they’ll realise point 5.1 exists and see sense.

Well it's poorly written in any case. If a "competitor" means a starter (which would be one reasonable interpretation of the term), this could have been more clearly written and isn't compatible with the process for informing stakeholders. That process makes it sound like "competitor" is meant to mean entrant on the deadline, which would be another reasonable interpretation... |

So petty at CWG level to restrict medals like that, though I've seen it in force at county champs too so it's not uncommon (though still petty imho). Hope she's ok about it.
