My mother huffed a bit but then said that if we weren't arriving at the crack of dawn she and Dad would go to church in the morning. It'll do us all good 😀

Luckily we don't have anything else at all to do before January, so we can just do it another day.

While I am not a 'religious' person I do appreciate the meaning and origins of Christmas and much prefer that side of it to the hideous commercialisation of it all so I do always try to find time to get to a service to think about 'stuff' and sing some carols. In the past I've gone to a carol service at one of the big town churches but this evening it will be the one in the next village.
