I ran the metric marathon in 2017. I’ve opted for the full marathon this time round.
Interestingly, AJLB, I also opted for Chester rather than Leicester which is more local for me.
Hope the race organisers can manage to run Leicester’s races. It would be a shame if they have to cancel them.

Yes, it's grim for Leicester - as of yesterday some stretches of the course were waist deep in water and lots more ankle/knee deep - worse still as some parts are riverside, with only a few inches on the path you can't see the difference between the path and the river itself. But, after dry weather yesterday and today it may subside enough...

They've just announced that Leicester is cancelled - really tough for the runners and organizers, not least as it's the major fundraiser for the local hospice.

Weird night’s sleep. Binks wrote about waking in the night worrying about safety pins. It was a bit like that; clearly my subconscious is not treating this as a normal weekend.
