Took the chance to spectate the metric after DNF'ing the marathon and rewarded with a flock of Fetchies in anniversary tops.

Hope you all enjoyed it!

10th place for me, and a small PB, very well treated in the Elite area too. The twisty slippy diversion through Grosvenor Park was unwelcome, but all in all a really well organised race.

@homer I did say hello to a fetchie! They said nothing about donuts (odd really, I think that’s quite an appropriate thing to say at mile 20+ of a marathon) but it probably was you.

“Hi” with less gasping this time!

Super, super pleased with how it went. 3:59 so the magic sub-4, and nearly an hour of my times from a decade ago when I last did one.

Absolutely dead at the end though. Comically so.

When I got a PB in the Cheshire HM a month or so go, I felt I could have run it slightly faster if I had to, not that I wanted to. Today though... I think I ran it faster than I could, if you get what I mean. If it wasn’t for the 4 hour mark there’s no way I’d have kept going in the last few miles like I did!

Also can I echo a few comments here about the organisation, apart from the bag drop (especially the bag pick up which was a mess early on) this was a really well organised race. And when you think how they had to make major changes to the start/end with less than a week to go because if the weather it is actually impressive. They MUST have already got that as a Plan B to be able to do that.

Anyway two thumbs up to them from me
