The Pin Lady
Edda looks just like Pepper - who hid for days. She still hates visitors and today was scared to go out as the rain was being very loud! This is after 8 years!

Hope Edda settles in soon.

How is Isaac doing?

Not strictly in a box, but I came across this and about 20 other cats that live in Hassocks Pet Shop in Sussex:

20 cats in a pet shop sounds like a new game show.

The vet thinks Karma may have blocked saliva glands, anyone have any experience of this?

We also use the approach jdawayinamanger described at the shelter. This little one (Shamira) went from hissing and lashing out in early August, to eating from a proffered spoon by mid August (but still hissing), to accepting being stroked by end of October (when she also moved to a bigger room with other older, chilled cats), and finally this week she started purring 😻 Her sister, Cleopatra, remains a hissy one!

Thanks for that, Mags.
Edda is so gentle and non-reactive that it worries me more. She has no instinct to defend herself. 😿

She's pretty! None of ours have taken that long so far (but we don't even try feral adults, hissy Heather is the biggest outdoor kitten we have taken in at 1.8kg). However we have them at home and hand feed up to 4x per day which is probably a big advantage compared to a shelter. A fork under the nose gets most of them eating from me in under 24h and they generally start to come onto my lap (sitting on floor at door of cage) in a day or two. At which point I start to strategically position hands so they get a bit of touch when eating.

Quite funny how you can have a hand on them quite firmly when they are face down in a plate, then they finish, realise what is happening and leap away!
