I have a small bumbag that I’ve had for years. I have had a flip belt but it didn’t work so well for me, and I also have a slightly newer bumbag but it’s not as good as my old one! Needs to be fairly small/flat so it doesn’t flap about.

+1 for this idea. If only because I occasionally do so to keep the phone dry.

Especially for where and when I need to have a phone.

That's an interesting idea. I have dozens of buffs.

Many thanks for the other ideas. Food for thought.

For those who just stick the phone in shorts or gilet pockets -- doesn't it bounce around?

I have a Camelback Ultra waistbelt. It has a waterproof zip phone pocket. It's fine for my phone but mine is on the smaller side and not sure how it would be for phones on the bigger side.

Another vote for the Salomon Pulse, in the zipped rear pocket. I have two because I'm between sizes: I'm about 29» waist, so the S size is best on my waist, but I prefer an M size on my hips.

I have used a Flipbelt but on occasion the shape of the phone has allowed a gel to work out and get lost, so I prefer the Salomon. Both brands have a key-tab for bike-lock keys.

Don't always run with my phone but when I do it goes into my bumbag which lies flat on my stomach and doesn't flap about (which I bought from local running shop)

Tighter lycra shorts often have a pocket flat against the thigh - my wife has some of these but I use more trad loose running shorts. I use a small waist bag, needs done up tight but don’t notice once running. Also holds house/car keys etc, I use in races and parkruns. I also have a bigger version for long runs when I’m carrying a water bottle and some food.

About This Thread

Seeking advice on the best way to do this. I've tried armbands and waistpacks in the past but they were bargain basement cheapies so doubtless there's better out there. I've seen adverts for vest-type holders as well. I've got a couple of hydration vests but the pockets aren't big enough. Phone is a Xiaomi.

Quick access would be ideal. I got bitten by a dog this morning and it would have been good to take a photo of it and its owner.
