Park and run to the start perhaps ? It would be a good warm up If it's sold out, I'd better get a place as a pacer!

A new C&C person has taken over the organisation of pacers and a month ago when he requested volunteers he used only Facebook, which I don't use. He didn't use the club website or other methods. Even though I was on the list of last year's pacers that he was given, for some reason he decided I was on Facebook and would therefore see his request! All the pacing slots have now been filled and the reserve list is full, although I'm now on as a reserve reserve but highly unlikely to be required

Does it get really bunged? I might bring my old pushbike and cycle. I find it quite good at easing off the legs after a race
