Cog - the Cycle and Park works quite well, you'll need your race number to get in and out of the cycle compound - although if it's muddy, don't try and cycle over the ground, just walk your bike across from the path. Mrs Jigs - just as long as Jigs doesn't try doing a "Jack Gray" ![]() |

It's 2 miles from the Madingley Rd P+R - based on it being 1.75 miles from my house and the P+R is another 0.25 miles away

Are you not getting a train to Cambridge, the station is only 10 minutes walk away? If you're are driving to Trumpington P+R, the bus is apparently still running even though its route is mostly on the HM route cambridgehalfmarathon.com click Travel then Park & Ride. If you're wanting to run there and back from P+R to add on extra mileage for your marathon training the direct route is about 3.5 miles each way, mainly along the race route in the opposite direction, along Trumpington Road to Hyde Park Corner (the site of the Catholic church The Church of Our Lady and The English Martyrs olem.org.uk ) then across Parker's Piece (the place where the first football laws are said to have been created - see what everyone is going to miss from my running guided tours ![]() ![]() |

I got myself a park and ride ticket and it's always worked fine in the past. I'll drive to trumpington and was thinking maybe run to the start and get bus on return. I remember the first time I ran it I met someone who had done that ( as part of marathon training) and was totally in awe of her ..... So it's sort of like realising an ambition

For your return bus ride, the route should be unaffected by the race route. cambridgeparkandride.info This map also shows the route of the Guided Busway from Trumpington P+R to the railway station if you fancy a quieter run, although it's a bit further, perhaps nearer 4 miles, but then you'd miss out on meeting other runners making their way to the race and getting a reminder of the first part of the race route, albeit in the reverse direction. |

Thanks Flatlander. Think I have a plan. If only I can remember it until next March!

I've got my envelope with Race number but have done no other forward planning. I'd better go and look at when I need to arrive at the race and try and work out an arrival time at Trumpington. I'm still planning to park and cycle.
