At a first look, I'm aiming to arrive by 8 to drop bike and bag. Not sure how long that will take. Hopefully no worse than 08:30.

The Fort St. George will be exceedingly crowded and it could take a very long time to get any food.
A nearby alternative would be the Old Spring just over the river using the bridge by the Fort St. George.

Thank you I’ll have to remember not to drive to Maddingly!
Forgot this is a relatively early start - that might be v good if this weather holds

I only suggested the Fort as a pre race meet outside point - it'll be heaving afterwards

Just wondering if anyone actually forked out £100 for a VIP entry to get in the heated tent and is now kicking themselves

Weather forecast at the moment is for it to be pretty good on Sunday morning- but that could well change! £100 to warm up though - would need to be horrendous for that to be worth it

When I was a pacer last year we were allowed to prepare inside a tent. Even though it wasn't heated, it was very welcome due to that very cold weather and kept us out of the wind

I see the weather is turning pants as we approach race day. Better bring some clothing options.
