Traditionally Adriene says 'Six is for SIX PACK ... only joking.' So I'm expecting an abs heavy session. I need to have a look at my other training today so it works nicely.

SS - I taught Pilates rather than yoga but the principles are similar. Fleecy is right (I'm not sure which move you mean either) - modify so it doesn't hurt. But you 'should' feel your abs working. I would suggest bending the knees as much as you need to to stop your back arching -and your ribs flaring (probably).
Any move can be made 'smaller' and still be effective if that makes sense?

One of the problems about starting a programme late is that you get to read about the torture of future days lol.
Day 2 for me later - I am very unfit and my core has gone awol!

I'm going to quote just about the wisest (as well as one of the nicest and most interesting) Fetchie of all - Canute.
This is a comment he made on my blog recently:
'One useful trick for fostering tough-mindedness is reframing 'effort' as rewarding rather than painful.'

Good quote Sharkie. I'll resume things but modifying according to what parts of my body can handle.
