For me probably low but within the margins. I'd guess 1-15? 1-12 maybe.

I don't think I've ever DNF'd a book. It might take me a looong time to get through some.

I used to think I have to plough through a book even if I stop reading it I'll get back to it one day.

Then Mark Billingham made me change my mindset

Though I've only recently started logging dnf's on GR

I’ve only ever had one DNF and take the view that I have started so I will finish.

I've said before that I believe life is too short to waste on books you aren't enjoying. Reading should be for enjoyment, enlightenment and education (and maybe other words beginning with 'e' ;-) ) and if a book is giving you none of these it's not worth your time. There are innumerable books that *are* worth your time.

I used to be a 'have to finish'er but I've come round to LD's way of thinking in recent years.

I have three books on my TBR pile. While they are all quite different they also have a common thread.

One is fiction, the second is non-fiction, and the third is a translated French novel which may or may not be less lighthearted than the other two. I will decide tomorrow.

my DNF rate has been increasing over the last couple of years as I "force" myself to read books that I feel I "ought" to read but about which I have misgivings;

of the 5 I've DNFd so far this year, 4 I was "dubious" about in advance
it's not just a self-fulfilling prophecy though, cos a quick scan shows 8 more dubious ones that I did finish - 5 admittedly fairly unenjoyable, but 3 were rather (i.e. surprisingly) good ;)
