Finally got round to reviewing TSLOAJF!
Currently reading the 3rd Richard Osman book, good fun so far

I started Middlesex, by Jeffrey Eugenides, but can't get along with the narrative style at all. I will be returning it to Audible and finding something more accessible.

HOLD ON!
Is that a real film below? Did they make the black characters white?

[The review, not Middlesex. I gave up on it too]

Also gave up on Middlesex, which I bought FFS (years ago isn't it?) PS I REALLY don't rate Richard Osman. Even for a light snacky sort of read.

I checked IMDb: The characters in the photo are Amy, A.J, and Ismay
A.J. was of Asian descent and the guy in the picture (Kunnal Nayar? looks like he could be too), Maya's mother was black, so Maya is mixed-race. She appears to be played by black actors in the film. For some reason I thought Chief Lambiase was black, but he is played by David Arquette.

I also DNF'd Middlesex, when I reached half way and even one of the characters agreed that it was boring: 50% "When I told my life story to Dr. Luce, the place where he invariably got interested was when I came to Clementine Stark. Luce didn’t care about criminally smitten grandparents or silkworm boxes or serenading clarinets. To a certain extent, I understand. I even agree."

Thanks Dio. For some reason I thght A.J. was black. Not sure why. Agree about Lambaise but I guess it's not specified
