I'm a granny gearer too
Hardly ever get out of seat, I have done twice on my new bike, not because I was struggling, just so I could see what it was like.

I would get out of my seat - momentarily - at a traffic light to start off. That's all. Oh and I only use my Granny Gear if the 'hill' is vertical. My lowest gears are too light for just any old hill!

My legs are to weak to not use granny gears at time, no I joke, it's quite hilly round by me, so I have been known to use it a bit.

I use for very steep hills - Boo you are a much more seasoned cyclist than me! Out of seat to start off - yes, the only time.

Cool Jude - Just wanted to check that I am using my bike efficiently! I think I am but I just wanted to be sure...
Cycling 26 miles a day in London is making me a strong little thing! But it is so full of hazards - but I like to play games like racing other cyclists, especially men (I always win!)...I'm not competitive at all!

Ahhh you guys...I don't rock!! I only started this cycling thing 4 months ago (before that I refused to get on a bike - I was too scared) - but now you can't get me off the bilddy thing!
Just one more thing...Do you all find that cycling has helped your running, or have you not seen any improvements?

defo helped when i haven't got a mashed foot I'm much faster - led speed and strength coupled with CV benefits. The long long bikes (3 hours plus) make the long runs alot easier.
