Well I *really* don't want to fall off and hurt my shoulder otherwise it will finish my career, already at the will I ever work on the road again stage, waiting on scan and the results to say whether or not I will be able to do it again. Hey ho, can't not bike though on the off chance it will injure me.

Yeah the cold does affect injuries afterwards. My shoulder aches worse when it is cold at the moment.

mad4purple - I hope the news is good - I presume you can still doing spinning?

Idio - I never raced XC at Aston but I rode there quite a few times, and raced elsewhere.

The only racing I ever did Ltc is a few Mountain Mayhems and Sleepless in Saddles. Charging around a course for a couple of hours seems to much like hard work ;)

Riding for 24hrs seems too much like hard work to me ;-)
My races were anything from 40mins to 1hr 15 - depending on the course :-)

Endurance is not my strong point, although neither is speed :-(

Any suggestions here for improving my biking speed? I figure a long, slow weekend ride and some hill work would help.
