There was little stuff when everyone wanted bikes, so they ramped up production when they could, only for demand to fall sharply. There was likely over production, plus some OEM stuff destined for bike firms that no longer exist. So I'm not entirely surprised that there is quite a bit of stuff from around then still about, even if it doesn't reflect their latest lines

MM - just going back to your comment above, I'm not all surprised that Shimano decided to retain the R8000 (rebadged to R8100) rim brakes. They're going to be around for a while yet and, to be fair, they are fantastic brakes, easily the best rim brakes I've ever known.

I reported it to the police, took photos etc. I wasn't seriously injured but the whole process afterwards gave me insight into how unjustly liability is judged. I am not the most eloquent of athletes, but this post from road.cc nicely sums up the arguments road.cc
