Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

The photo makes the cranberries look burnt, but they aren't. I'm leaving to to cool totally before attempting to remove from the tray or they'll fall apart I think.

Looks great. I love a fruit cake - Mum used to make a lovely sultana cake.

Husband was bemoaning lack of lemon drizzle cake. I pointed out the lack of lemons and invited him to visit the shop.

Re sourdough - I would recommend checking out Bake with Jack videos on making a (rye) starter and a basic loaf. I'm happy to stay basic, it works for me: pragmatism over perfection! I flirted with this a long time ago and totally failed, getting so confused with the feed / discard stuff and frustrated with baking inedible frisbees.

Rye creates quite a lively starter so it can be good to go in four or five days. You only need to keep a small amount for the next time, it happily sits in the fridge between loaves. Today's was made with a starter which hadn't doubled in size but it had grown steadily over a few hours and was nice and bubbly.

Blimey that was quick GM! That was also the recipe that jumped out at me. Might try it with the glace cherries though I have both.

What did you decide Lizzie?

Lovely DT.

Last pieces of lemon polenta will be consumed this evening so I may bake tomorrow though it's a busy day work wise and I di have some cake in the freezer and tropical tiffin in the fridge so it might be Tuesday.
