Thanks sallykate - I had no idea you could buy starters online let alone gf ones. I've just had a look and am a bit put off with all the talk of pressure building in the jar and feeding instructions - is it as complicated as it sounds? That is a nice base recipe Purps, thanks. |

I'm normally quite brave - I made the fruitcake for the innards of my wedding cake but am not artistic enough to have decorated it - but I'm irrationally scared of trying to make sourdough.

I still can't get any soft brown sugar in the supermarkets - I've tried Tesco today - or online, unless I want to buy 3kg or more (which I don't). Is this the same for everyone or is it North Lincolnshire shortage? I've not heard anyone comment on it, unlike the toilet roll and flour shortages.

Sainsbury in Keighley had white granulated but very little else the last twice I’ve been. They did have toilet paper though

Haven't tried GM as I have FORO so had a spare pack at the start of all this. I'm scared of sourdough too lf - but I think it's because I see it as faffy and I'm not good with faffy, I'm very much a plain cook/baker. Didn't know if this might be of interest to anyone: hearst.emsecure.net Sorry - don't know how to do those tidy link things. |
