I see you've set PBs at 5K, 10K and HM since your last post, sparklecloud Closing in on that sub-60. And with your increased running, you will be on the way, GimmeMedals. For myself, I never ran that other 10K I mentioned. Also never entered two local 10Ks I'd considered in September. Possibly a mercy, as I only logged 32 km of running over July and August. But I did run a surprise 10K at the start of the month. A surprise, as I only decided to enter around ninety minutes before it started (it was very local, I actually ran past my house during it). 1:06:59, so not a stellar time: but I had run 28:17 at parkrun the day before. Have my sights on a 10K in three weeks time, and maybe something a bit further after that. Just need to keep up a bit more running, and up the distances a bit. |

Good luck with the upcoming 10k Dvorak. I've not been close for a while. Did run a 10k event in London about a month ago but didn't feel great 1/2 way round and so walked 3k

With that significant 5k time, you will be well prepared for a good 10k time, Dvorak. Good luck! I've got a 10k in 2 week's time but it won't be sub 30. It's more of a benchmark for me as I had a few weeks of not running due to injury back in June and I've not done speed work since then. |

Can i join in I have always been sub 60 until the Covid years Last year 68.25,72.44,64.25 two hilly,1 flattish all hot races. I had hoped this year would be better but two bouts of Covid put pay to that.I have a 10k next Sunday it is hilly and training times I predict not sub 60.But hopeful for next year |

Thanks Nice day for a run here, although I might bike instead. Or climb a hill, I think that's helping with leg strength. That's very unlucky with the Covid, Welshpoppy. Hope next Sunday's run goes well, at least it shouldn't be too hot! And you too, GimmeMedals. Not saying you'll be sub-60 (or sub-30 ) but I think you'll surprise yourself. |

Thanks for the Welcome Dvorak.Good luck with your 10k in a few weeks time. Wet and cold here 6 degrees but laps of the Rec day which I do most Sunday's.The rest of week will be hillier runs and yes I don't think it is going to be hot(race is usually July) now if they could flatten the last hill before the finish;-) |

Dvorak - thanks, and fantastically timed post! Because today I ran Leeds Abbey Dash... ...and got a 7 plus minute PB, 54:23! Been hoping, trying and failing to get sub-hour for eight years and all of a sudden got a sub-55. Slightly in shock but I have trained really hard this year! Best of luck with your 10k next month! And best of luck to everyone else too |
