I just have and told myself off for feeling unnecessarily guilty for such a non-transgression/interpretation of rules. Not Fetch rules I hasten to say! I would not dare transgress any of those after our confession stint 😎 Now I am treating myself to.a second coffee to celebrate but that is one for the mundane thread Thank you Craig, don't seem to be able to tag you, for your posts. And Fetch, for closing it down when it became "less fun". I too felt like reaching out to a few of these anonymous Fetchies... That wasn't my confession. However I have a different opinion to those put forward on a previous page about gender critical or reality based feminist voices. Trans rights activists (and the apparent hangers on of men's rights activists) are frequently preventing women's voices from being heard. The GC side from the evidence I've seen does not issue threats (and should not do so) whereas TRAs frequently turn up with placards and chant violent threats. There's plenty of evidence of this on social media. There doesn't appear to much if any evidence that connects GC to any incidents against the trans community and I'm getting fed up of these unevidenced statements being used to discredit GC. The GC side do not protest at trans community gatherings, nor harass venues to shut down events. A feminist film screening was prevented this week in Edinburgh unherd.com Gun clubs were at the US cyclo-cross nationals at the weekend to scare away protestors (who had banners the year before) who campaign for women's sport to be women only as trans women were taking part in the female competition. The club's themselves tweeted about it and posted photos. Women holding a silent vigil last week outside the court where the Dana Rivers trial was ongoing had their banner ripped from them, eggs thrown in their faces and the banner was later burnt (that video was posted on social media), here's the action (apparently) in their own words indybay.org Report from the feminist silent vigil holders, it's the first video after the intro. If any threats have been made then I deplore them. I understand hearing/ reading dissenting opinions on something that can affect the way you want to live your life can be distressing. Why? Because that's how GC feel too. However expecting women to give up their rights silently, no campaigning, no disagreement is unrealistic. When women share why they want single sex spaces because they've been victims of violence and sexual violence, they're accused of weaponising their trauma, for example JK Rowling aninjusticemag.com I'm not sure how we have a way forward but would appreciate some recognition of what is faced by GC feminists. |
