I downloaded a really simple steps app on my phone over a year ago, and still using it. Walking more has really been a gem for me over the last year, when running took a nose dive. Walking at lunchtime with work colleagues has helped add some positive time to our day Great thread! |

eh up. I am running at the moment (been out since late Feb after collapsing in a race). Possible burnout, but no one is really sure. Taking steps to address this. Anyways, I am training for a 10+ day walk in September. Magpie and myself are hoping to do the Tour du Mont Blanc a 170km walk around the base of Mont Blanc which is anything but flat. We have booked a 5 day self guided walk over Easter (Eastbourne to Portsmouth) and will book September if we survive that. Last weekend was our first double up weekend (14.5 and 11 miles on consecutive days) and we are hoping to do similar this and next weekend. The biggest challenge at the moment is finding places to walk that are interesting and dont involve too much travel. Wish we lived a bit closer to some proper hills! How do others discover routes? |

If you keep the horse you'll need to stick to the bridle ways. Try this for walk inspiration griffmonster-walks.blogspot.com |

Why have I only just seen this thread. Walk the pooch twice a day - 6.15 in morning (or the dog goes and wags his tail on the radiator to wake me up) and then in the evening. Normally 1.6 ish miles each time unless Marvin is feeling lazy..... |

Walk fail on Saturday. We use walkhighlands for inspiration but sometimes their directions are awful. We had to cut across a golf course and then the directions weren't making any sense and the walk wasn't that great anyway so we abandoned. Hoping to do a biggie in the Cairngorms at the weekend if the weather forecast continues to be good. I think there is a walklakes as well as walkhighlands so probably other versions too. |
