Whereabouts do you live Curly? I’m sorry to hear about the burnout. Your walk sounds fantastic, who did you book it through? Try the LDWA website, they do some super long walks and some will be hilly |

I'm scared to look at the Mont Blanc thing until I get WHW out of the way. I bet it's amazing and I will feel inspired.

We are self booking/planning everything Fleecy. There is a fab guide book to the route and a good website: autourdumontblanc.com cicerone.co.uk My step dad has done some sections too and so we have a map of some of it. Plan is to take trains there and back as I really dislike flying. Its fairly well marked apparently. Thanks for the website suggestions, we live in Surrey and have done already: Bracknell Circuit Northern Loop (including Swinley Forest) Most of London Loop (just 2 stages to go) Knowl Bridleway (both loops) North Downs Guildford to Dorking Richmond Park Lots of the Thames that we can reach on the train Just looking at the downs and looks like Box Hill to near Redhill should be possible all on trains so that is an option. I find the North downs a bit busy for my liking though. Any one else find that? The other place I want to go back to having run there is Devil's Punchbowl, but its a fair car journey so probably save that for some other day. |

I did the Tour de Mont Blanc as a walk with Exodus around 10 or 12 years ago. Very well thought out itinerary and a fantastic route

Ok I have a fantastic hilly 10 mile route from Guildford, it starts at the Wey river and is beautiful Not sure if I have a route map anywhere, let me think. It goes up 3 big hills including St Martha’s. Though if you want a shorter route just going up St Martha’s itself from the bottom is a bastard Mr fleecy and I’ve done it a few times recently and I was puffing like a train...Or you could do St Martha’s and Pewley Down which is also a fair bunch of hilly bits. And there’s the Hogsback too, add that in for the full month!

There is also Butser Hill which is a bastard and has a big hill right across the A3 as well, I’ve done a 10 mile route round there which was good preparation for Beachy marathon

Curly - I live in Redhill. The NDW is busy near the car parks but get between them and the number of people soon dries up! The Greensand Way also runs parallel to the NDW. There's a more low level route from Dorking to Reigate you can take along that as well. The full thing is 110 miles. About 9 between Dork & Reig ldwa.org.uk |

Will be walking in the Lake District in May (24th to be exact) - WS would be good to meet up with you if you're around.

Oh yes please Fleecy that would be awesome. I dont know Guildford well (we live in the less sexy part of Surrey near to Heathrow ;)) We need to get up some hills as our bit is very flat. I still think North Downs in not hilly enough but weekends away are difficult so will have to wait. Cheers for the advice McG DT - it does look amazing. Cant wait |

And a train trip there! Excellent. Scotland has a few walks, but the train to France is probably cheaper.
