I’ve started making Vietnamese coffee with a phin. I bought 250g of coffee and a phin in Ho Chi Minh City airport duty free for $5 which is close to what I would have paid for the coffee



I then add a bit of condensed milk for the true experience

I have one of those Bialetti coffee things and very good they are too. NEVER put them in a machine. Rinse out. Occasionally clean thoroughly with a cloth, check the rubber ring.

The Vietnamese coffee maker has just reminded me of being in Saigon c 2002 sightseeing on a Saturday afternoon with a local guy from the company I was working with on his scooter

‘Hey Mister Derby. You want go for sex massage?’

‘Err, no thanks. Maybe we could get cofffee instead’
