I tend to just stop, maybe walk slowly. Giving commands to other people’s dogs is akin to telling-off their children; the owners/parents don’t like it, even if you are the right.

Mrs Jigs (Luverlylegs)
A couple of years ago I was running with friends, a couple were camping in the park and had 2 German shepherds tied up, they started barking and pulling against their leashes, my friend carried on towards the campers seemingly unaware, she loves dogs and wanted to chat to the owner, I stood stock still and didn't look directly at them, one broke free and ran towards me snarling and barking and bit my thigh.

:( Mrs J, nasty. I usually slow to a walk - the incident a few weeks ago was unusual, as we were in a group - and running pretty slowly - we were a bit caught out! Running Buddy Sophie has been bitten out running and remains understandably wary.

My worst ever running injury was sustained tripping over a dalmatian along the canal. The owner started shouting at the dog :(
I always walk and stop if necessary.

No dogs at boot camp today!

Gotta work now, spend some time with very bad tempered teen (yes, I know he is suffering but spending all day playing video games is not the solution he thinks it is) and hopefully a gentle 15k later.

I'll probably skip bootcamp tomorrow and join Friday instead. We'll see.

Bloody dogs! I always mutter "stupid owner" when I manage to move on. So many untrained even thought they think they're marvellous and so friendly - dogs and owners.

Fragile Do Not Bend
I once came across one that was barking and snarling at me and the owner said “don’t worry, he’s more likely to lick you to death”. Forgive me if I don't take your word for it. Then she made some comment about the dog reacting to my bright clothing FFS.
