Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Glad there s this thread, 70% is a stretch to far for me. I have been hitting upper 50's again lately and have high hopes of getting into the 60's on Sunday, when I'm doing a flat half.

Good luck for Sunday Minimag.

70% is out of my league too, I've only done one race this year and managed to get 63.16% WAVA, so happy with that.

Well done minimag and good luck on the 10K.

One thing that worked really well for me recently was making a point to nail hydration and sleep in the week before the race.

I think I might always be a little undeehydrated and you can't fix that in 24 hours. The same with sleep, especially as most of us won't sleep well the night before a race.

Race day I was 1kg heavier than normal and took a big chunk of time off, so it's something I intend to repeat. Obviously mileage might vary depending on current sleep / hydration.

I’m pleased to report my current trousers still fit.

60% is a dream too far at the moment.

Well, I did it - 61.42% Wava for the half.

I ran this one a bit odd, as I had never broken a 50 min 10k and it was a real monkey on my back, so I treated the half as a 10k with a 11k warmdown at the end.

Did the 10k in under 50 minutes and took almost 5 minutes of my PB for a half!

Really, really pleased with this run :)

Well done Minimag. Recover well and lets hope you can go better. It's a novel way of gaining a new PB.
