I had a calf injury earlier this year that showed itself as a foot injury. My physio had me doing lots (LOTS) of foam rolling and single leg work - single leg squats, hopping, heel raises all to fatigue I had to also ice the foot but could have been due to the trigger coming from the foot. I’ll see if he has any relevant videos. Two ticks |

Thanks GG. I’m going to try and book a physio session to get some ideas too. At the moment I’m getting away with it, but too many examples here have got me paying attention |

Scribbler, I hope that it’s nothing serious. Being a serial collector of calf strains, I can echo what GG has suggested (but no experience on icing the foot). It’s important to have strong calf muscles and those exercises will help that. Roller I got is good practice anyway, but will help free up any niggles. It’s also important to make it a regular part of your routine (says he who doesn’t always practice what he preaches and ends up on the bench again!) |

Thanks for asking about name knee GG. I had the scan three weeks ago and have a phone appointment with my GP tomorrow to see what is proposed. More recently it’s not been too much of a problem, but I’ve not had much of an opportunity to do a great deal of running or walking.

Osteoarthritis apparently, or basically getting old! There’s nothing that needs treatment at this stage (eg no meniscus tears, which are often left untreated these days anyway). So it’s a case of keep on keeping on for the time being. Bad news about your Achilles Taz. Are you doing anything for it? |
