Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Would have put money on me replying to this yesterday!

Race was everything I hoped and more. I didn't find it too tough hills wise but terrain certainly took it out of my legs it was sandy muddy stuff, water, compacted trails, loose stone track, you name it we had it.

We saw tanks and had some photo opportunities, stopped for a natter over a cider or mulled wine (only small I hasten to add) lots of good banter on the way and great banter

I'd love to say I'll be back again but the travel from Newcastle to Dorset ended off costing us £350 in petrol accommodation and food (& we only needed 1 night accommodation) oh and an extra £150 for a new tyre!!

But I am so glad I did it. It tested my mental strength now I've got back running and I'm officially in love with my trainers again 😃

Oh and I did it in 2h 40m although came in slightly short as I missed a corner more than happy with that without stops I'd have easily blitzed 2hr 30 (for full half) and may even have got a half PB!

Another bug this weekend, so it looks like I'll be coming up slightly short of 500 miles. A bit disappointed but a few weeks' rest now is better than struggling during events in 2017.

evening all, how are we all doing? Did you all have a good Christmas?

There is now 2 days left of 2016, I've clawed to 379 and 39 for December. I'm planning on Parkrun on Saturday with a run there and back I should hit 385 - more than happy with that. At 39 for Dec I have my highest ever mileage for Dec which is something to smile about and if I do get the 6 in Saturday at 45 for the month not too shabby neither.

I will set up a new 500 group, I am actually targeting 1000km for a medal I've signed up for in Virtual Runner but I'll keep myself fin the 500 group.

Who's with me for 500?

I think I'm at 253, so half way! Never mind, I've enjoyed some of those miles, especially those I spent with some fab people, including a number of Fetchies :)

Had a totally disasterous year running wise a fall in January sidelined me for a month and things just haven't been right since. Decided not to run in December to give myself a break. I'm going to start steady in January but part of me thinks my running days might be near the end Old Father Time seems to be catching up with me.

That's a shame R62, but if that is what you think your body is telling you, then you are wise to listen to it.

That's such a shame Robbo.

I thought an injury during the summer would kibosh my plans of 500 miles but thankfully I managed to claw it back. I've got two days of Marcothon left putting me at 800+ miles for the year.

Well done everyone! bunting
