I've mentioned on Joopsy's 2022 albums thread but an album I can't stop returning to is Weyes Blood - Hearts Aglow. It's just so beautiful. If anybody is looking for something. Thanks for the recommendation, MaT.T I've started listening to this and I agree with you; it is beautiful. |

Right, I managed to listen to Gently Tender last night at last and I liked it but didn't love it. I will definitely have a re-listen and it may grow on me more. Musically it was pretty good - even when one starts a bit dirgey and you think 'uh-oh this sounds a bit dull' it'll change course at the chorus into something much more buoyant. I think my one misgiving is that I'm not a huge fan of his voice. He sings a bit like the guy in The Vaccines and that was always a sound I could only take in small (i.e. not album-length) doses. Having said that, I think having a female voice as co-singer leads to some really good harmonies and contrasts - and I like GT waaay more than The Vaccines. Having seen them live supporting The Big Moon, I think the live versions of the songs worked better for me. |
