Is that Trooper the Iron Maiden beer? I would never have called that "golden". Nice drop though.

There's all sorts of versions of Trooper, but yes, it's a bitter, but people don't like calling bitter, bitter any more.

Sorry been away yes the trooper is an Iron maiden beer. Very good traditional bitter. I think OS is right it’s a marketing thing rather than an accurate description

112 Evil elf from Rudgate. Described as a biscuit ale. Very pale. Not at all bad
113 Newtons drop from zest brewery. A classic bitter
114 Green and Gold from Titsey brewery. A lovely beer the pub got in for a Camra event. Only brewed one day each year with hops freshly picked from a neighbouring farm.

There have been work events and football recently, so time for a recap:
No/Lo
25. (bottle) San Miguel 0.0 (0.0%). I was surprised this wasn't already on my list from my Spanish holiday, but I only had the apple version.
26. (bottle) Freestar Prime Time Lager (0.5%)
27. (bottle) Erdinger Alkoholfrei Grapefruit (0.3%). A little heavy on the grapefruit, I won't be buying this one again.
28. (bottle) Stella Artois Alchohol Free (0.0%)

Cans
26. (can) McEwans Export (4.5%)
27. (can) Arbor Ales Talus in Wonderland (4.8%)
28. (can) Tiny Rebel Easy Livin' Pale (4.3%)
29. (can) Beavertown Bloody Ell IPA (5.5%)
30. (can) Bristol Beer Factory Laser Juice (4.2%)

Bottles
45. (bottle) Paulaner Hefe-Weissbier (5.5%). I was even more surprised this wasn't on my list already as I distinctly remember having a couple of glasses earlier in the year, but that was on draught, and after I'd stopped counting having reached 50 of those.

No idea where I am as I never updated after my summer holiday down south.

Recently though -

Hemsley Brewery, Yorkshire Legend (bit too dark for me, but not horrible)
Brixton, presumably an IPA, citrus, nice.
Camden Hells lager! Surprisingly ok.

Latest counts

Draught 71

Bottles 85

Cans 45

Confident I can get the cans over 50 by end of the year

Also know I've missed recording quite a few in each category

Good point, time for a re-cap soon, I had a very odd beer the other day, claimed it was made with Salt, it couldn't be, salt kills yeast, but there it was in the ingredient list. Could I taste salt, could I f%&*!

I had a productive trip to Boston recently...

No/Lo
29. (can) Athletic Brewing Free Wave (<0.5%). Hazy IPA.
30. (can) Athletic Brewing All Out (<0.5%). Stout.
I've seen Athletic Brewing cans in TK Maxx in the UK, and these ones confirm that they're good. They were being handed out after a 5k in Cambridge MA and there were at least six different varieties.

Cans
31. (can) Sweet Water H.A.Z.Y. IPA (6.2%). Brewed to taste great at 35,000 feet, apparently - a Delta Airlines exclusive.
32. (can) New Belgium Fat Tire Amber Ale (5.2%).
33. (can) Kozel Černý Dark Lager (3.8%).
34. (can) Harpoon Rec. League (4.0%). Tagged "the cooldown companion" and stressing its low calories, are they suggesting this is suitable for sport?
35. (can) Allagash White (5.2%). I enjoyed this one.
36. (can) 7th Wave Lunar Sunrise (6.8%). A stupid (NEIPA) beer. over hopped and over strong, but at least the label was pretty.
37. (can) Mast Landing Gunner's Daughter (5.5%). A pleasant Milk Stout, tasted superb after the Lunar Sunrise.
38. (can) Samuel Adams Octoberfest (5.3%).
38. (can) Samuel Adams Winter Lager (5.6%).
38. (can) Samuel Adams Boston Lager (5.0%).

Bottles
46. (bottle) Harpoon IPA (5.9%). This beer is almost 30 years old now, and you can see that they haven't gone silly with the hops like more recent offerings.
47. (bottle) Modelo Especial (4.5%).
48. (bottle) Żywiec Białe (4.9%). A Polish wheat beer, I'm sure it's completely inauthentic, but it was very nice.

and here we are in 2024....

I still really like a pint.

I think this is not too controversial health wise. Lots of beers about these days. I interpret it as different beers within 2023, and you can, if you like; avoid beers you have had before, but as ever the list is yours to do what you like.
