I couldn't see anything on the Adnams website either and I spoke to a guy in the local Adnams shop about it and he rather patronisingly said 'Are you sure it was Adnams'. I have a friend who works for them though so I will probably ask her! I think it was in the local community run pub where all the bar staff are volunteers so they don't necessarily know a great deal about the beer in the way that the landlord/owner of a free house would.

At The walking group’s Christmas lunch I had two new beers. I would have described them both as Milds but the brewers disagreed

116 Santas little helper from Tring is described as a warming winter ale
117 Landlord Dark is a Rich but light Dark ale

I wonder if the description Mild is thought to hinder sales

I’ve had some properly weird beers in my Brewdog advent calendar this year. I’ll get a wee list together later.

No/Lo
32. (bottle) Sagres 0.0 (0.0%). A tiny bit sweet, but I could drink it again.

Cans
45. (can) (So Lets Talk x) Tiny Rebel 86 The Silence (2.5%). Arguably I could have put this in No/Lo, but I've arbitrarily set my limit at 1%. Described as a pomegranate radler, it actually tasted a bit like a sour with that pomegranate tang at the end. My wife turned her nose up at it, but I quite liked it.
46. (can) Tiny Rebel XOXO (5%). Lovely.
47. Chang Classic Beer (5%).

Just looking at the awards for Landlord Dark, the industry certainly seem to think it's a mild: timothytaylor.co.uk

I'm not a huge fan of the regular Landlord (controversial, I know), but I'll keep my eyes open for the Dark as I do like a mild too.

Entering the home straight, I'm at 74 draught, 100 bottles and 49 cans.

Definitely going to break 50 cans with my Christmas stash

Had a sublime couple of pints at the weekend, Ellusive Brewing Lebkuchen Stout in the 6 Barrels Nottingham

and here we are in 2024....

I still really like a pint.

I think this is not too controversial health wise. Lots of beers about these days. I interpret it as different beers within 2023, and you can, if you like; avoid beers you have had before, but as ever the list is yours to do what you like.
