Final beers of the weekend to add

West coast ipa from Stockport brewery
Echelon an amber bitter this is the “house”beer of the excellent free trade inn
By the river brew company heedhunter nice but not as good as I was expecting. There were three different styles so we sampled them and there wasn’t a lot of difference.

A couple more on the draught list to add
pint 41 Green Jack - Orange Wheat Beer
pint 42 Adnams - Broadside

And from the cans and bottles list
31 Northern Monk - Jam Roly Poly (Jam and Custard Pale Ale) 4.5%
32 Thornbridge Cocoa Wonderland Chocolate Porter 6.8%

No 31 was not as horrible as it sounds - in fact it was quite nice and very 'jammy' and a nice design on the can.
No 32 was exquisite although I hadn't realised the strength of it - good job it was just a 330ml can

Another from Ossett Brewery, Yorkshire Blonde 3.9%.

An appropriate choice for me, being blonde and in Yorkshire :)

Total now 30, mostly draught. Not bad for someone who doesn't drink much and only likes cider :)

It had been recommended to me some time ago but until recently I never really looked at the canned beer in the supermarket - but I am trying to be more open minded now!

I bought a 4-pack of Greene King Ice Breaker this week. It’s a pleasant wee IPA in the modern style (citrusy hops). I’ve been struck lately by how similar many of these beers are to each other.

A very nice pint or 2 of Wainwright today. Of the big brewery ales I think wainwright is a favourite of mine although it is often hard to see who brews a beer

Also a 10 4 brewing session ipa last night (Aldi exclusive brand) ok nothing special though.

About This Thread

and here we are in 2024....

I still really like a pint.

I think this is not too controversial health wise. Lots of beers about these days. I interpret it as different beers within 2023, and you can, if you like; avoid beers you have had before, but as ever the list is yours to do what you like.
