Appropriately for cask/draught list as far as the number goes....

pint 47 Chevallier 47 - Grain 4.7% I am not usually a big fan of beers from the Grain brewery but recently I've had a couple that I would certainly drink again and this is one of them

Angus Clydesdale
I’ve found cans of Whitstable Bay (4%) in Tesco. It says it’s by the Faversham Steam Brewery, but it turns out that’s a cover for Shepherd Neame. Still, it’s a very nice light pale ale (and the aftertaste is reminiscent of Spitfire (just like the Luftwaffe, downed all over Kent)). Very pleasant.

Picked up on spec in Lidl. Pleasant enough, but a bit "thin".

Hertford Tiger
Last nigh our local Camra branch organised a walk entitled “into the mild brew yonder” taking in 4 of Hertfords best pubs so I felt I ought to tag along

First Mansion mild from Tring brewery

Then Macfadden mild from Leigh on sea
Third was Red Dawn mild from Mad Squirrel

Finally finishing up with Crouch Vales mild although a light mild was available I stuck to the Dark theme.

All around 3.7-4%
All were excellent but I think my favourite was Macfadden which was named in honour of a Leyton Orient footballer killed on the Somme.

Back home now.

40. (can) Big Drop Paradiso Citra IPA (0.5%). Not my favourite ever alcofree, but might appear in my shopping basket again at some point in the future.
41. (bottle) Otter Ale (4.5%). I know I've enjoyed some beers from Otter in the past, but they weren't this one. Nothing wrong with it, but not to my personal taste.

47. (draught) Glastonbury Ales Voodoo IPA (4.8%). Looked and tasted a bit dark to be an IPA, but ok.
48. (draught) Good Chemistry Brewing x Arbor Ales Close Proximity (couldn't see the strength). This was delicious! I like a lot of Good Chemistry beers, and I've no beef with Arbor either. Very pale, unfined, and very moreish.

About This Thread

Maintained by Ocelot Spleens
and here we are in 2024....

I still really like a pint.

I think this is not too controversial health wise. Lots of beers about these days. I interpret it as different beers within 2023, and you can, if you like; avoid beers you have had before, but as ever the list is yours to do what you like.
