oh, b0ll0x, You read this thread anyway, you'll see this message. I've a few to add from the weekend, but we're just rushing out the door now.

Yes and we will certainly revisit Weston as we go down to see Bristol city (mates team) play Hull City (my team) each year or at least when we’re in the same division. Weston hotels were massively cheaper than Bristol. So any other recommendations for good pubs? We also tried the Regency, Weatherspoons, and Brit bar.

Add Cobra draught (disappointing); 70', Gold Pot (Tinpot Brewery, Bridge of Allan: in the brewery tap).

Pint of Bootlegger today, Hambleton Brewery 3.8%. Quite nice.

Also shared a selection of no/low alcohol beers at the weekend, but I didn't have full glass of any nor remember what they were called! Oops.

31. (draught) Cotswold Lion Drover's Return (5.0%) claimed to be a bitter, although tasted more like a mild.
32. (draught) Wookey Hole Witch Way Home (4.2%)
33. (draught) Verdant People Money Space Time (3.8%) pick of the weekend - unfined, kind of orangey-coloured, and served in a chalice glass. It looked more like a pina colada than a pint of beer!
34. (draught) Quantock Voss Love Got To Do With It (5.0%)
35. (draught) Stonehenge Spire Ale (3.8%)
36. (draught) Quantock Limitless Endeavor (4.2%)

I'd happily have any one of them again, which is quite the result.

The Regency and Brit are my other two main haunts in Weston. The Criterion up the hill from the Regency is GBG-listed and well worth a detour. The Duke of Oxford near Nandos is usually worth a visit if you're passing nearby (it's an easy stumble from the Fork'n'Ale).

Right - I need to update my list, will do that in a moment then update here. Probably forgotten a few but some is better than none at all I guess!

Cheers Weean

You have reminded me the Cotswold Lion Drovers return was one of the missing pints. It was almost black and very malty. Not what I was expecting at all but I do like mild so an unexpected bonus.

and here we are in 2024....

I still really like a pint.

I think this is not too controversial health wise. Lots of beers about these days. I interpret it as different beers within 2023, and you can, if you like; avoid beers you have had before, but as ever the list is yours to do what you like.
