My renegade 30 days are now complete with a repetition of Day One. I'd forgotten there's around six minutes of sitting and being waffled at - that's meaningfully encouraged to.
I did very heavy training yesterday including blocks and bench press so I 'did' still notice pressure in the wrists. I didn't have problems with stepping up to lunge form plank or DD 30 days ago and I still don't. - but my feeling is I was smoother and less challenged by the whole thing. Yes, that's right me, think I described Day One as do-able but challenging, now it's just a straightforward practice.

Thanks to everybody who has joined in and contributed, or even just been there but silent. I think it really worked gently chivvying each other along day by day.
Challenge loves company just as much as misery does!
I won't be doing daily yoga for the rest of the year as I'm pretty full on with other stuff. But HURRAH for us!

I did day 30 day and finished not with a bang but a whimper. Perhaps not the best day to do it as it followed this mornings long run. So I avoided the leg work and concentrated on lots of stretchy stuff and a bit of core. Thank you Sharkie for providing a lovely supportive thread that helped others (including me) through this challenge.

I also repeated Day 1 earlier, although confess to skipping some of the waffle at the beginning (!) - I do quite a lot of Pilates and do teach quite a lot of weight bearing through the wrists etc. so this hasn't really changed - however, I have found that the yoga has helped my cranky and stiff SIJ on my right side and I was surprised to find that I was quite tight and less mobile in a few places which feel less so now. I do like the way that Adriene incorporates more of the muscle engagement cues as well as through the deep core and pelvic floor (which would address deep TrA as well), as one of the things that does irk me about some yoga teaching and practice is the 'hanging' in the joints and dumping the weight through the lower back etc - this isn't great for anyone with hypermobility and doesn't really build the strength. I liked the incoporation of some of the Pilates elements (well, I would....) and I read in a recent interview that she has been practicing more Pilates herself recently (if anyone asks me which they should do, I always suggest a bit of both - nothing is a panacea) However, mainly I have enjoyed having something to go to every day - I have mentioned a knee injury at the beginning and running is totally out and probably will be for some time (I don't want to say never, but my scan results aren't pretty...), so whilst I have needed to make some modifications I've been able to do this and I've really enjoyed the feedback and the comments on the thread - mind sound a bit melodromatic but it kind of got me through a crappy month. Thanks to all .....and in Adriene stylee....Namaste!

I did day 29 yesterday and really enjoyed it.
I shall mark that as complete - 29 days done (with 2 not finished). I’m pretty amazed I kept up with it.
I shall do bits of yoga but not everyday and will take a rest today. I may well try some of the move sessions again.

As a fellow (ex) Pilates teacher and long time practitioner (although not any more) I agree with everything you say, MH and am really glad you were here and felt some benefits.
I've said before that 'I' really appreciate the back extensions that balance out the forward folding type movements. Rarely enough emphasis on back extension in my humble.
Well balanced series, best one I've done I think -and I've completed at least five.

I completely agree with you on the extensions, Sharkie and thanks for starting the thread!

Some great analysis of day 1! Not much to add to that - was interesting doing it again. Much more ‘available’ to me this time although I still think it’s pretty strong for the wrists and shoulders. Possibly because it’s slower as Adrienne talks you through the postures? Must admit to also skipping the first 5 mins of waffle!
Thank you so much all of you for your company on this - I would not have done it without you. Definitely going to keep it up - 365 days of yoga? Possibly not but will see.

I did day ...25? Last night. Not my thing at all. Millions of sun salutations, yuck. I've missed most of this one with too much stuff on, but I'll catch up with some of them as I go in February
