Excellent WAVA, Gobi!

I don't have a slow cooker, so not an issue, Doc. And you are all perfectly free to call your stews/soups/casseroles/daubes/ragouts/blanquettes/hotpots/cobblers/goulasches whatever you like. I don't care what anybody else calls anything, but in my kitchen, if it's cooked in a pan on the hob it's a stew (roux-thickened) or a soup (veg-thickened), if it goes in a casserole dish in the oven, it's a casserole, although if it's layered with potatoes, it could well be a hotpot.

I love dumplings. My Mum used to make giant ones. I've never made them, think I need to rectify that :-)

80% WAVA is excellent.

Merry Fizzmas :-)
Good rules, jk :-) different to mine, but good :-)

My mum also made giant dumplings. I follow the recipe on the suet box and end up with small dumplings. *whispers* I prefer them to mum’s. But I suspect that it’s mostly due to the fact that she had to get dumplings for six squeezed in the pan, and I’m only making for two.

First parkrun I've actually ran for 2 months. Steady Conwy parkrun and a great advertisement for the hardiness of fetchies as I was the only person in a vest in my sparkly new black fetch vest

Dumplings are good any size.

And I think JK's rules work for us all.

My slow cooker has a curry in it at the moment.

80% WAVA - nice work Gobi :-)

Good logic JK - much better than my arbitrary naming of a particular dish as stew, casserole etc. - think I may have to adopt your system. Fingers crossed the weather will be a bit better for your marathon tomorrow.

Glad to hear you’ve managed to run Bonners :-)

Went to Penallta parkrun this morning, for a friend’s 20th different parkrun location. It was very wet and chilly, but I enjoyed the run. It was nearly a minute slower than the first time I ran this course (back in April), but I felt a lot better than I have in any 5K I’ve run since Snowdonia. It was a few seconds quicker than last week’s parkrun, which was on a pancake flat course (this one has a few undulations), and I managed to finish first lady :-) Our friend S was also (they think) the first VI runner they’ve ever had.
