Good morning folks – my apologies for the delay with this month’s round up. I forgot that my Macbook wouldn’t handle Excel well so I had to wait until this morning for the roundup. I refuse to sully it with Microsoft products!!
Continuing from last year’s round-up, I’ll share some of our favourite Canadian snacks
Nanaimo bars – these goodies are similar in appearance to Millionaire’s shortbread, only the crust is a cocoa/chocolate and crushed graham cracker base with dessicated coconut, and the caramel layer is a vanilla custard layer, topped with chocolate.

Tim Hortons doughnuts – much better than the Krispy Kreme variety (they just aren’t the same). There are some similar flavours (Boston Cream – custard filled doughnut with chocolate topping) while there are others that are uniquely Canadian – Maple Frosted ring doughnut. Montreal bagels – there’s been a debate about which is better – Montreal bagels or New York style bagels! Montreal bagels are not quite as perfectly round as New York bagels, and are smaller and denser and have a larger hole than the more bready New York bagels. _andy 1241.98 121.89 -0.59% Nellers 1186.54 150.19 -5.02% RichHL 1122.34 62.78 -10.16% RedAlex76 1111.27 68.33 -11.05% RuthB2 1097.72 33.5 -12.13% MzG 1073.61 69.49 -14.06% Tom the Cymro 1064.48 111.27 -14.79% FRU (KeepTheFaith) 1062.04 68.92 -14.99% IanS 1045.44 150.87 -16.32%
Smoked Meat – very similar to Pastrami and is usually served in sandwiches of rye bread with mustard and a dill pickle. Unlike the rather mean pastrami sandwiches I’ve seen in the UK, the meat can be up to 1-1/2 to 2 inches thick – a case of “do you like a little bread with your meat?!” westmoors 987.86 87.68 -20.93% Bez-head 949.78 68.72 -23.98% Zeb 831.71 47.15 -33.43% zuistu 824.34 15.52 -34.02% Huntsman 822.2 5.38 -34.19% carolyn_t 814.97 42.74 -34.77% Jono. 799.42 102.66 -36.01% Neilio 788.14 33.69 -36.91% Garfield 774.89 39.73 -37.97% That man from March 737.55 63.1 -40.96 % Toks 732.79 98.96 -41.34% Flatlander 722.59 96.68 -42.16% Ron Burgundy 472.25 215.95 -62.20% kstuart 312.15 55.49 -75.01% mr d 277.73 66.2 -77.77%

A cheeky progressive 10-miler for me as well today. And a real ah-ha moment with regard to running efficiency. It's only taken 12 years for the penny to drop

Thanks Garfield. I really fancy one of those smoked meat/pastrami sandwiches for lunch!
