Nice going Nellers. And Wobbler is right the first twenty minutes is getting the body up to working temperature. The next twenty will be loads better.

Yup I'll 3rd that ...... many times I've thought about ditching a run in the first 20 mins and then had an awesome run for the miles that follow

Fizz :-)
There's a book called "The Looniness of the Long Distance Runner" and the author (forgot his name!) refers to those first twenty minutes as the "Toxic Twenty". He reckons that most of the people who say "I hate running" have never got outside of those twenty minutes.

I was using our sledgehammer to hammer in a new fence post to fix our fence yesterday - brownie points... did the Herts summer triathlon today - Olympic distance - swim & bike were ok but e 10k run was tough over undulating ground - tired now... great running /wava JK!

My buttocks don't ache and after Kimbolton's half yesterday nor do my legs after what I consider a reasonable effort.
Which is a good thing.

Back at work for a rest after being up north for the Speyside Way ultra at the weekend.
It wasn't pretty but before someone points out that I got exactly what I deserved for the amount of training I have actually managed in the last six months (less than 6 weeks of "proper" mileage) I would have probably been a DNS if it hadn't been for my brother and his wife doing it as their first ultra and I wanted to be there for them
However the GTS in two weeks is definitely off the cards, I'm not entirely stupid
