Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

I'll be walking a little later on - I'm working from home today. Legs don't feel too bad, though they did have enough walking breaks so are not completely dead.

I feel MK Marathon looming large now... Sunday I managed my longest training run ~23 miles - was OK although tough at the end in the sun - glad I wasn!t doing Brighton - well done to those who did - just trying to decide what pace I can do it at...slight taper staring although still got one more long run (17M+) to do... just trying to stay fit... 7M with a good interval session this am for me :)... may run at the club tonight...

Hi all!

Home from Yorkshire, having sorted my aged parent's fallen tree situation. There was no actual problem at all, my Mum'd just totally misunderstood what was happening, mainly due to never listening to what people say and being totally suspicious and disapproving of anyone under 70 that she hasn't known for at least 30 years. The tree is being removed this afternoon, paid for by the neighbour.

Hope to get out for a run with the club this evening.

Ha ha. That's old people for you. Waiting for the slow-fit tyre people to change some tyres. They were booked and paid for on line so not impressed at having to hang around in Stevenage for 2 hours while they fanny about

I went to my first club training session for 7 or 8 months - 7x 400m intervals. I was cautious for the 1st 2 (only just sub 7mm), felt confident for the remaining 5 so I made a good effort but not flat out and done them around 5m40s - 5m50s pace, so I'm pleased with those :-). Running rest day tomorrow.

Glad the tree has been resolved. What about the slow-fit tyre service?

Tested the knee last night on the treadmill. Decided on the treadmill for 3 reasons: 1) if I needed to stop I could and I wouldn't have to worry about getting home, 2) it's a soft surface so less impact forces, and 3) there are no corners so my knee stays in alignment. Set the tready to 5.5 mph and 60 minutes. Ran the full hour without any pain :-) Garmin clocked 5.68 miles! Next test is to run outdoors on a predominantly off-road route.
