Hi Garfield, the parkrun starts next to the bandstand (behind the Pool in the Park) in Woking Park.

I didn't know Dave personally but I do know Fred. Horrible news, very upsetting. It is a VERY fast road but I have to admit I have crossed there, don't think I will in future. :(

Thanks Stu. Dave was lovely and I'll probably be popping down there tomorrow, though not running it - I tweaked my ankle a couple of weeks ago - it's all right on tarmac/canal paths but I'm not sure how it would take to grassy stuff.

I was going to ask Doc to tell us a joke but feel that would be in bad taste.

My cold is receding but still a pain in the neck.

I've sharpened the lawn mower blade but in truthfulness only needed the edge brightening as stones mown over were few.

It is...given how he was over 70 and could run faster than I can or could at my quickest in the club, as Fred said, at least he died doing something he loved. Now if Fred had talked him into going to parkrun on Christmas eve instead, I probably wouldn't be typing this now.:(

Obviously I never knew him, but sounds like a inspirational chap, and if that inspiration lives on then so does he in some small way.

Doc, he was incredibly inspirational...and really supportive. Also a really cheeky bugger at times! It was a shame when he stopped coming to the club speed sessions. Shortly after that I left the club - it's gone through changes and it's not the same as when I initially joined it.
